Malaysia Rock Queen, Ella & husband, Captain Azhar
The holy month of Ramadan is here once again, bringing with it blessings, reflection, and the spirit of giving. And what better way to embody this than by extending a helping hand to those in need? This year, Malaysia’s legendary rock queen, Ella, is embracing the season in the most meaningful way!
Teaming up with The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur, she really was standing in the eye of charity, hosting a special Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event on 3rd March 2025. This heart-warming initiative aims to bring joy and blessings to the children of Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera, a home carefully selected by Ella (Ben Jawi).
Set against the elegant backdrop of The Saujana Grand Ballroom, this event was designed to be more than just a dining experience—it was a moment of unity, gratitude, and heartfelt generosity. There was a total of 27 children of the Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera present on the day and they were all, together with other guests treated to a scrumptious Iftar session from the hotel’s 2025 buffet Ramadan, “Kembara Cita Rasa Nusantara”.
Right when it was time for Iftar, everyone was treated to light refreshments of water and sweet dates before proceeding to perform the Maghrib prayers in congregation at a makeshift prayer area in the ballroom that the hotel very thoughtfully prepared for this event. The area also accommodated guests who wanted to join for Isyak and Taraweeh prayers, later after the main event.
A Feast Made with Love by Chef Raduan & Team

Renowned Executive Sous Chef Raduan Ahmad has personally crafted a customised menu “Kembara Cita Rasa Nusantara Dinner Buffet” for the children, ensuring that each dish is not only delicious but also resonates with the warmth of home-cooked comfort. Inspired by authentic Malay flavours and infused with care and love, the menu reflects the true essence of sharing and togetherness during this sacred month.

“The joy of cooking is not just in the ingredients but in the hearts we serve,” shares Chef Raduan. “This is more than just a meal—it is about nurturing hope and sowing kindness in the hearts of these children.”
Adding to the festive spirit, The Saujana Hotel KL is also inviting guests to embark on a culinary journey throughout Ramadan with its “Kembara Cita Rasa Nusantara Dinner Buffet.” Available till the 29th of March 2025, this lavish buffet spread showcases a rich tapestry of traditional Malay dishes, time-honoured family recipes, and regional specialities, ensuring a truly nostalgic dining experience.
From aromatic rendang to freshly grilled satay and indulgent desserts like bubur kacang and kuih-muih, every dish is prepared with the same dedication and warmth that defines this season of giving. Savour the rich flavours of Nusantara at The Charcoal restaurant while embracing the spirit of togetherness that makes Ramadan truly special.

Spreading the Spirit of Generosity
After the delicious iftar feast, the main event takes place. After delivering their heartfelt speeches, Ella, alongside her husband, Captain Azhar, joined Ms. Jasmine Ong Li, General Manager of The Saujana Hotel KL, and other esteemed VIPs on stage for a special cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the joy of togetherness in this blessed month.

With bright smiles and excitement in the air, the little ones lined up to receive their festive tokens. The moment was made even more memorable as each child was warmly and rather endearingly greeted by Ella and Captain Azhar who handed their duit raya, followed by a heartwarming photo session.
Through this initiative, The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur hopes to instil the spirit of giving in the younger generation, showing them that kindness is a ripple effect—it starts with one act and touches countless lives.

“Ramadan is about more than just fasting; it is about giving, sharing, and making a difference. We are incredibly honoured to collaborate with Ella, whose generous spirit and warm heart mirror the values of this event. We hope to create a night that will leave a lasting impact, not just for the children, but for everyone involved,” says Ms. Jasmine Ong Li, General Manager of The Saujana Hotel KL.
As the saying goes, “Tangan yang memberi lebih baik daripada tangan yang menerima”—and in this month of blessings, The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur is grateful to give back, uplift, and bring smiles to those who deserve it most.
