Activity for Kids (Part 6) : Japanese Rice Balls

How to Make Japanese Rice Balls

Japanese rice balls are one of the easiest things for your child to cook up. It can be eaten anytime of the day – be it breakfast, lunch or dinner and they are also a cute way to get kids to eat healthy.

You can put basically anything in these rice balls and it’s a great way to spruce up your leftovers.

Ingredients:

  • Freshly cooked Japanese (or any short-grained rice)
  • Salmon / Chicken Floss
  • Korean toasted seaweed
  • Korean kimchi (optional)

 

Equipment/Utensil: Rice ball mould (from Daiso)

 

Steps:

  1. Scoop some freshly cooked rice into a bowl.
  2. Add in salmon/chicken floss.
  3. Add in toasted Korean seaweed and mix well.
  4. Fill the mould with rice mixture and press down.
  5. Gently remove from mould.
  6. Serve with Korean kimchi at the side.
