Just as we have experienced many social changes throughout the years, the ways in which kids these days spend their time has also evolved as compared to the previous generations. While we used to meet up with our friends at the park to recharge after a long day at school, apart from this, kids nowadays also turn to their TV or gadgets, where they are able to indulge into their own world of unlimited entertainment. With this, it has thus become paramount for the parents to ensure that they create a safe viewing experience for their kids.

As the world sees a huge digital shift, it is vital to be aware of what your children are being exposed to. However, just as the television has ‘child locks’ for certain channels, online streaming services are also equipped with ‘Parental Control’. Looking at Netflix as an example, one of their core beliefs is providing entertainment for everyone. Hence they have made it a point to make certain that families not just have a wide choice of kids & family films and shows to choose from, but also have the control over the content that is available to their children.

To support this, Netflix has features that help parents give full control to their children when it comes to selecting their entertainment of choice, whilst still being in control. This enables families to have the best uninterrupted viewing experience on Netflix.

So parents, go on your Netflix account and try out these tips and tricks while checking out Netflix’s new kids and family titles coming out this month including The Adam Project, Upin & Ipin: Jeng Jeng Jeng!, Rescued by Ruby and many more!

Separate watchlist for kids

Create a Netflix Kids profile – With a simpler look and feel, it only plays TV shows and movies with default maturity setting of 7+. Now they have easier and faster access to the endless options of Kids’ titles from Vivo, to Back to The Outback.

P.S. There is no direct access to account settings too for them to sneakily undo it

Kids outgrowing their taste?

Customize their profile’s maturity settings – Parents can easily change the profile maturity ratings (available for 7+. 13+, 16+ and 18+), allowing their children to only have access to content suited for their age group.

P.S. You can also turn off autoplay previews as well as block specific titles from the kid’s profile

Keep your profile private

Set profile and account-level lock – With a 4-digit pin, you can prevent other users, especially your kids, from accessing any other profiles on the account. Now you can watch all the gruesome murder documentaries with no worries!

P.S The pin also prevents anyone adding a new profile
