Activity for Kids (Part 3): Homemade Play Dough

Who needs to buy store bought play dough when you can easily make your own, safe, non-toxic and child-friendly play dough in just a few minutes!

This homemade play dough recipe is simple, natural, and perfect for entertaining children. They’ll sure to enjoy making it as much as they’ll enjoy playing with it! So watch the video and follow the simple instructions below:

 

Materials:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • food colouring
  • glue

 

Instructions:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together, except the food colouring and glue, in a medium saucepan until there are no lumps.
  2. Cook on low heat and stir continuously until it thickens.
  3. Turn off heat once it starts to lump and set aside for about 30 minutes for cooling.
  4. Once cooled, knead until smooth.
  5. Separate into 4 balls and press into the centre.
  6. Add in food colouring and a dap of glue to each ball.
  7. Knead and fold the colouring inside to prevent staining on hands.
  8. Store wrapped in cling-wrap or a ziplock bags. It’ll last you up to 2 months.
