There’s a reason why the government decided to close all schools and daycare centres, and that’s to curb the spread of COVID-19 in a mass scale.

The best thing to do now is to #StayAtHome in order to avoid being exposed to the invisible enemy.

Children in particular are much more vulnerable towards COVID-19 since their immune system is still developing.

In Tokyo, eight babies and toddlers at a Tokyo Care Centre have tested positive for COVID-19 after a staff member contracted the disease, reported The Star.

All the eight affected children have been hospitalised despite having no symptoms of high fever, while another 21 tested negative and are under observation.

Tokyo Saiseikai Central Hospital operates this facility for children who are separated from parents due to neglect and abuse.

Although Japan has so far avoided a huge spread of COVID-19 infections, some medical facilities have suffered in-hospital transmissions.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is assessing ongoing research on the topic and will continue to share updated findings. – WHO
