Introducing Yuna and Ansari, the couple loved for their playful skits on social media. Yuna is a freelance emcee, Malaysia Civil Defence Force volunteer, and social influencer, while Ansari is a marketing expert in the construction industry.

Yuna, Ansari

Q: Yuna, spill the tea! What did Ansari do throughout your pregnancy that made you swoon the most?

Yuna: Oh, when Ansari held our baby for the first time, he was so overwhelmed with emotions that he teared up. Gazing lovingly into her eyes, he promised to be the best daddy ever. Having witnessed that, my heart just melted with gratitude.

Q: What’s the one thing you and your partner did during your pregnancy that you would recommend to other couples?

Yuna: Do your research and attend workshops together with your partner!

Ansari: Yeah, YouTube was our go-to! It was also a great bonding experience for us to go through this journey and support each other every step of the way. Don’t underestimate the power of the Internet, folks.

Q: If your baby could describe you in one word, what do you think it would be?

Yuna: Confident. I am not shy about being in front of the camera, and hope to nurture my daughter with the same self-assurance to grow into a smart, strong and brave individual who will pursue what she’s passionate about.

Ansari: Cool. As a new dad, I want to be someone my child can look up to and confide in, while also being a source of fun and inspiration.

Q: Yuna, now that your little one has arrived, how has parenthood impacted your career?

Yuna: Well, people often think that women have to give up their careers once they become mothers. But Maria has shown me that I’m capable of so much more. In fact, she has inspired me to take on new creative projects and approaches in my work!

(L-R) Derrick Ting, Povy Teng and Kayern Ting

Next, meet Povy Teng and Derrick Ting, proud parents of two. Povy runs an online business creating custom baby hampers while Derrick is an engineer. Together, they’re navigating parenting while pursuing their passions.

Q: If you could only choose one word to describe your pregnancy, what would it be and why?

Povy: Growth. And no, it’s not just my waistline, haha! I’ve learned to appreciate life even more and discovered my own inner strength. It’s amazing what you can overcome when you become a mother.

Derrick: Yes! It’s really inspiring to watch her chase her dreams while also being an amazing mother to our children.

Q: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your partner since becoming parents?

Povy: I’m constantly in awe of how cool and collected Derrick is, even in the face of chaos.

Derrick: I was blown away by Povy’s resilience and natural nurturing skills – I guess you could say we’re the perfect yin and yang of parenting!

Q: If you had to give new parents a survival guide, what would your top tip be?

Derrick: Keep dating your wife! It’s crucial to keep the spark alive and show your kids what a healthy relationship looks like.

Q: How do you juggle parenthood?

Povy: Juggling motherhood is like playing a never-ending game of catch – sometimes you’re on top of things, and other times, everything comes crashing down.

Derrick: Now that we have two kids, it does require good time management, patience and a sense of humour to keep up with everything. I am so lucky to have Povy as she is a natural when it comes to parenting. I try my best to pitch in around the house where I can, although I must say I’m still nowhere near as good as Povy when it comes to managing the household!

Q: What’s the most rewarding thing about being a mum?

Povy: Oh, it is like finding the last piece of chocolate in the box – it’s a sweet and satisfying feeling that warms my heart. When I see my little ones cuddled up together or catch them sharing a giggle, I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot of motherhood.
