5 Fun Valentine’s Day Picnic Spots To Go With Your Family

This Valentine’s Day, if you are looking forward to surprising your spouse but unsure of what to do, do not worry. We know it’s hard for you to have a romantic dinner with your spouse when you have young little ones with you. So, why don’t you ditch the yearly routine and try something new that guarantees some fun time with your family: A Valentine’s Day picnic!

And, since Valentine’s is on a Friday this year, why not take a day off and spend it with the family instead. But before addressing what you need to take, you have to figure out the where.

If you’re a city slicker who just wants a great place to hang out for a few hours without being too far away from the concrete jungle, we’ve got some suggestions for you. We have listed 5 of our top spots for you to have the most wonderful and fun experience with your loved ones.

Titiwangsa Lake Garden

After a year-long closure, the park has opened its doors to visitors recently.  The park offers attractions, such as the newly-installed 60m Titiwangsa range canopy, children’s ankle-level water playground for dipping and splashing activities, playgrounds, a maze garden, as well as jogging and cycling tracks, covering 4.5km and 2.5km, respectively. It is one of the best places to spread your picnic mat and enjoy a moment together while children get hooked up at the playground. All you need is some drinks and a variety of finger foods.

Kanching Rainforest Waterfall, Kanching Forest Reserve

A picnic by a waterfall could be just the thing you need for your Valentine’s Day. Situated at the Kanching Forest Reserve, the well-maintained recreation park is located off the trunk road to Ipoh, between Selayang and Rawang. Its proximity to the city makes this forest park a very popular spot for not only picnics but also camping, swimming, and jungle walking especially during weekends.

Sentul Park, KLPAC

This park is a mix of open grassy spaces and jungle-like nooks which creates an oasis of calm amidst the concrete jungle that surrounds it. If you’re looking for the perfect picnic getaway in the concrete jungle of the city, Sentul Park is one such place. Hidden from the capital’s chaos, it has dense woods on all sides, with well-tended pathways. Its ponds are swarming with fish and terrapins, and on good days, you might even see cranes drinking there. What a way to enjoy your Valentine picnic!

Desa ParkCity, Kuala Lumpur

Desa ParkCity is home to its very own Central Park, a private park with well-kept lawns and a beautiful lake that is open to the public. Chill out and have a family picnic at the Central Park that truly represents an ideal getaway from the tribulations of the city life. Think it’s another good spot? We think so!

Kepong Metropolitan Park

It is located at the Northern end of Jinjang, and is famous for their kite flying activities. The ideal place for kite enthusiasts, there is a huge field that runs parallel to the main road in the park that is specifically for this purpose. Most barriers and trees have been removed to ensure clearance of at least 100m for the kites to take off. Located near the MRR2 Highway, the Kepong Metropolitan Park is also the perfect spot to lay out a mat and have some good food.
