5 Fun Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day This Year

Every celebration is special, but Mother’s Day should be at the top of all celebrations- if I do say so myself. Why? Eh, mestilah top as you’re celebrating an important woman (or women) in your lives – MOTHER! The intense pain she endures for every childbearing is definitely out of the world. Every childbearing is different for each woman. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all way to give birth, which is why there’s no one “right” way to feel about it either. The joy of birth and the sacrifices a mum makes is what this celebration is all about. Betul-tak?

Well, for the last two years, we lived in a pandemic with multiple lockdowns and strict restrictions. We were not able to celebrate much with our loved ones. Currently, we are still not out of the woods, but thankfully this year things are getting better.

Have some fun with these 5 ways to celebrate Mother’s Day but do keep precautions in mind especially if there’s a big group of people involved.

1. Cook up a Lovely Meal

As the saying goes, “the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach”. You can cook your wife’s or mum’s favourite meal and impress her on this special day. Well, love and food are intertwined, so cooking and sharing a meal to express your love towards this person is truly cherishable.

There are so many recipes on YouTube these days, pick mum’s favourite and cook up a storm for your mum.

2. Enjoy Outdoor Activities Together

camping

If you haven’t brought your family to the outdoors much these past 2 years, this is the time for you to plan something. There are so many beautiful camping sites in our country. Just google and look out for either glamping or camping locations near you. Telling stories around a campfire and some grilling barbeque meal may be just what she needs to unwind.

Better yet, if she prefers a cold climate environment, head on to Cameron Highlands, Fraser Hill, Genting Highland or Maxwell Hill for a brief relaxation trip to recharge her energy.

3. Give Her Some Quiet Time

For new parents, if your wife is often severely sleep-deprived, ‘gift’ her a few hours of peace –  for a happy mum makes a happy baby. You can also plan a stress-free day with anything that she favours.

For instance, if she loves books, provide a comfy lounge, refreshments, and noiseless peace with a captivating book. This would be the ultimate gift for mums who need some ‘me-time’. Give it a try, and she will definitely appreciate you more!

4. Sporty Activity

If your wife is a sporty, athletic kind of person – surprise her with a family bike ride. If you haven’t done this for years, this is the time to do it. Fuelled up and go for a day trip, enjoy each other’s company just like your dating years.

If you have a similar interest group of friends to tag along with, even better and merrier. Remember, life is too short not to enjoy it.

5. Pampering Time

Who will say no to a spa day or some pampering sessions? I’m sure all mums will never say ‘NO’ to this. This is the time to shower your mum or wife with much-deserved love and attention through some pampering beauty treatments like facials and body massages.

You can either have it at home or pick some of the best spa centres near you. Help her to glow and be radiant this Mother’s Day!
