Choosing diapers is not just about comfort or price. For many parents, it is about knowing what touches their baby’s skin every day. That is why Applecrumby® being recognised by Parenthood Records as Malaysia’s First Patented Totally Chlorine-Free Absorbent Core Diaper brand matters.
The recognition was presented at Malaysia Brand Day 2026, held from 8 to 10 January at KLCC, and highlights Applecrumby®’s long-standing focus on safer diaper materials and clearer product standards for families.
Why Totally Chlorine-Free Matters
Many conventional diapers use chlorine in the bleaching process. Applecrumby® takes a different approach. Its absorbent core is made using a 100 percent Totally Chlorine-Free process, which means no chlorine is used at any stage. This reduces the risk of chemical residue coming into contact with babies’ sensitive skin.
Applecrumby® is also the first private diaper company in the world to receive a Utility Patent for this technology, setting it apart in an industry where such transparency is still uncommon.
According to Sean Tan, CEO and Co-Founder of Applecrumby®, the recognition reinforces the responsibility the brand carries. “Being recognised by Parenthood Records reflects our commitment to safety, transparency, and innovation. Parents trust us with their children, and we take that responsibility seriously.”
Recognised on a National Platform
Malaysia Brand Day 2026 is a national event supported by the Prime Minister’s Office and officiated by YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development. The event brought together more than 100 Malaysian brands to showcase local businesses that have grown through innovation and quality.
Applecrumby® was one of the homegrown brands selected to represent Malaysian excellence. For a brand that started locally and now serves families worldwide, the recognition marked an important milestone.
From Baby Diapers to Growing With Families
Founded in Malaysia in 2012, Applecrumby® has sold over four billion diapers globally and is known for its focus on certified safety standards. Its diapers are Halal Certified, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, and Dermatest® approved in Germany for sensitive skin.
At Malaysia Brand Day 2026, the brand also introduced its new Kids Skincare Range, along with Basic and Special Skincare solutions. The range is designed to support children as they grow, using gentle formulations that reflect the same care standards parents expect from the brand’s diapers.
Co-Founder Jesmine Tan shared that the expansion is a natural step forward. “Our focus has always been to provide gentle and trustworthy products. Whether it is diapers or skincare, we want parents to feel confident in their choices.”
A Brand That Stays Close to Home
To mark Malaysia Brand Day, Applecrumby® launched Malaysia-exclusive limited-edition designs, including wipes packaging inspired by local kuih and AirPlus Mini Diapers. The brand also invited parents to exchange unused diapers from any brand for a complimentary Applecrumby® AirPlus Mini Pack during the event.
For parents, the recognition by Parenthood Records is more than a title. It signals a move toward higher safety standards and clearer choices in baby care, led by a Malaysian brand that understands local families and their concerns.
