HP’s AI PC Lab to Empower the Future of Malaysian Education

As the world today advances on the cusp of the Artificial Intelligence realm, what better way to enhance our Malaysian education system than by embracing it as well? Behold, HP’s AI PC lab! Last November, HP has taken the liberty to reveal their new initiative – an innovative roving lab, designed to empower Malaysian educators and youths with AI literacy and capabilities at educational institutions across West Malaysia.

The Lab, equipped with the latest cutting edge, AI-powered PCs, is scheduled to visit over 25 locations, starting with High Performance Secondary Schools (Sekolah Berprestasi Tinggi), and is expected to reach approximately 5,000 individuals, including educators, students, and members of the public.

The event kicked off at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), where HP hosted over 300 educators from Selangor to explore the potential of AI and experience hands-on demonstrations with HP’s AI PCs. This initiative supports the Ministry of Education’s 2023 Digital Education Policy and aligns with the recent Teacher’s Day theme, Guru Jauhari Digital (Digital-Savvy Teachers), aiming to enhance educators’ knowledge and digital capabilities to integrate digital tools into teaching.

“As Malaysia embraces the growing potential of AI, we recognise the importance of preparing educators and students for this shift. HP is proud to provide hands-on experience with our latest AI-powered PCs to schools, offering educators and students direct access to innovative technologies, in hope to inspire and accelerate their personal and academic growth. The HP AI PC Lab reflects our commitment to bridging the technology gap, enabling students and educators to become more resilient for a future where AI literacy is crucial.” -Alex Tan, Managing Director of HP Malaysia.-

AI and machine learning specialists are among the top 10 fastest-growing jobs, according to the World Economic Forum. Malaysia is committed to advancing in this field, ranking 2nd in ASEAN and 23rd globally for AI readiness, as reported by Cybersecurity Malaysia.

To boost AI adoption in Malaysia, the HP AI PC Lab will embark on a six-week tour, visiting schools, colleges, universities, shopping malls, and popular public areas in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Melaka, Johor, and Penang. At each location, visitors will have the chance to experience HP’s latest AI-powered PCs, exploring how HP technology can improve productivity, creativity, and learning.
