Danone Dumex Malaysia has introduced two new products into its Dugro® range – Dugro® Complete and Dugro® Sure, to help support Malaysian children with the right nutrition for different growth needs.
Studies have shown that the prevalence of undernutrition among children under age five was much higher than the prevalence of overweight and obesity[1]. Based on the analysis, 13.7 percent were underweight, 20.7 percent were stunting, 11.5 percent were wasting, and 6.4 percent were overweight. To address this matter, it is important to understand that every child will go through different stages of growth and development and it is crucial to provide them with the right amount of nutrition during these times.
“A child will go through different stages of growth since young and it is crucial to provide them with the right amount of nutrition for them to reach the optimal growth and development. When a child has growth issues, it is recommended for parents to consult a paediatrician or a dietician to find out the exact nutrients needed for their child. There is no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to child’s nutrition and growth needs,” elaborated Dr Tan Sue Yee, a nutritionist.
