Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas, a beloved family-friendly destination, is thrilled to introduce an array of captivating activities designed specifically for the youngest guests. These engaging experiences allow children to delve into the rich cultural and natural heritage of this pristine locale, deeply rooted in a traditional fishing community. From vibrant batik painting sessions to guided nature walks and enchanting birdwatching excursions, the resort’s diverse offerings cater to different age groups.
Little adventurers can start their exploration with the daily Desaru Beach Life & Tidepool Discovery – a serene 90-minute stroll along the sandy shore led by the resort’s Resident Naturalist. Children will witness the ebb of the tide as it unveils the secret world of tiny shore dwellers – sand bubbler crabs, moon snails, and a host of larger crustaceans and molluscs that sketch mesmerising patterns in the sand. As they wander, the youngsters will be regaled with tales and titbits about the seashells, coral, and seaweed strewn along the beach. They’ll also delve into the intriguing world of shorebirds, from the graceful terns and plovers to the majestic Brahminy kites and white-bellied sea eagles, not forgetting the diminutive yet charming little herons.
Aspiring birders will love the dedicated Birdwatching Walk, while those interested in the vibrant tapestry of native flora can join the daily Resort Nature Walk. Budding naturalists can also dive into the art of terrarium-making with a hands-on class blending fun with education. Here, children can craft their very own miniature ecosystems, both sealed and open, creating a unique, nature-inspired keepsake to cherish.

Additionally, the artistry of batik comes alive in the resort’s new classes designed for tiny creatives. Participants will learn the traditional techniques of wax-resist dyeing to produce intricate, multi-coloured patterns on fabric, crafting a batik masterpiece of their own design.
“The pristine shores of Desaru Coast have always been a sanctuary for those who adore the natural world,” said Peter Wagner, Resort Manager. “At Anantara Desaru Coast, we are dedicated to providing the next generation of travellers with meaningful encounters with wildlife in its natural setting, fostering a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and our planet.”
Children can also explore the resort’s sprawling gardens on complimentary bicycles, watch their favourite movies under the stars at Herbs Garden, and find an activity that speaks to their interests at Layang-layang kids’ club and Luncur Ombak teen club.

All activities are complimentary for resort guests. For more information and reservations, please email at desaru@anantara.com or visit https://www.anantara.com/en/desaru-coast.
