Slow Down & Savour The Moment: Art of Salmó Celebrates Its 7th Birthday

The Malaysian-born Norwegian Fjord Trout brand marks the occasion with new menu creations, cheerful merchandise and an adorable new mascot.

Between school runs, work deadlines and never-ending household tasks, family life can sometimes feel like one long race against the clock. As Art of Salmó celebrates its seventh birthday, the homegrown food brand is inviting Malaysians to pause, enjoy good food and appreciate life’s little moments.

Known for its premium Norwegian Fjord Trout, Art of Salmó has spent the past seven years making the fish easier and more convenient to enjoy. Its selection includes sashimi and sushi platters, as well as ready-to-eat creations for family gatherings, celebrations or a simple treat after a busy day.

“Life moves so quickly that sometimes we are already thinking about the next thing before we have enjoyed what is right in front of us,” says Phyllis Teh, Co-Founder of Art of Salmó.

“Our seventh birthday felt like the perfect opportunity to remind ourselves and our community to slow down once in a while, enjoy the food, enjoy the company and celebrate the moment, however simple it may be.”

Say Hello to FUWA FUWA

Joining the birthday festivities is FUWA FUWA, Art of Salmó’s newly introduced brand mascot.

The name comes from the Japanese expression fuwa fuwa (ふわふわ), which is commonly used to describe something soft, fluffy and light. With its playful personality, the mascot represents the brand’s message that life can feel a little lighter when we give ourselves permission to slow down.

FUWA FUWA also appears on a collection of everyday merchandise, including T-shirts and socks. The character will remain part of the Art of Salmó family after the birthday celebrations are over, serving as a cheerful reminder to find joy in ordinary days.

Something New for the Table

The celebration also brings two new food experiences.

The Loaded Sashimi Bowl comes with three sauces, giving diners different ways to enjoy every bite. Meanwhile, the Mukbang Series is designed for those who love sitting down to a generous spread and sharing the experience with family or friends.

Both creations feature the brand’s signature Norwegian Fjord Trout, celebrated for its distinctive flavour and texture.

“For us, a product should give people more than something to eat,” Phyllis adds. “We think about the experience around it too—the excitement when you open it, the different ways you can enjoy it and the people you might share it with.”

Share Your Happy Moments

Art of Salmó is also inviting its community to join the celebration by sharing their own #AoSMoment. It could be a birthday, a long-overdue catch-up, a quiet family dinner or simply a small moment that made the day feel special.

After all, meaningful memories do not always require elaborate plans. Sometimes, happiness is simply having something delicious on the table and the time to enjoy it with the people who matter.
