What if your next high tea could actually do some good? This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre is proving that a lovely afternoon out can also change lives.
Enter The Pink Hour – a month-long campaign at the hotel’s signature R Bar, run in partnership with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM). At its heart is the new Pink Hour Afternoon Tea Set: a spread of handcrafted sweet and savoury bites inspired by the iconic pink ribbon, served daily from 12 PM to 5 PM throughout October 2026 at MYR 178 nett per set.

And here’s the part that makes it worth clearing your calendar: 10% of the proceeds from every set sold go directly to NCSM, supporting cancer education, patient care, and support services. Marriott Bonvoy members get a bonus too – a MYR 30 subsidy voucher towards a mammogram screening at NCSM, a gentle nudge to book that screening you have been putting off.

The campaign launched at R Bar with the people who live this cause every day: Mandy Thoo, Deputy Director of Community Engagement and HELPP at NCSM, and Martin Ehlers, Multi-Property General Manager of Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre and Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, City Centre. Breast cancer survivor Janagi K. Guruswamy was Guest of Honour, sharing her inspiring journey of resilience and recovery, while Dr. Ng Char Hong, Consultant Breast & Breast Reconstructive Surgeon at Picasso Hospital, led sharing sessions on early detection and the importance of regular breast health screenings.
“We celebrate the neighbourhood and the communities around us,” shared Martin Ehlers. “With the National Cancer Society Malaysia being merely steps away from the hotel, this collaborative campaign is especially meaningful. We hope to create greater awareness through The Pink Hour campaign, while supporting a cause that touches many lives.”

Professor Dr. Murallitharan Munisamy, Managing Director of NCSM, welcomed the partnership: “Raising awareness about breast cancer and encouraging early screening requires collective effort. This partnership with Renaissance Kuala Lumpur strengthens that shared commitment and advances the cause even further.”

Guests at the launch were treated to a preview of the tea set, plus a professional breast examination clinic with tutorials on breast health awareness – because the campaign is about more than tea; it is about starting conversations that save lives.
