This May, DoubleTree by Hilton Shah Alam presents a heartwarming culinary tribute in celebration of Mother’s Day, featuring the renowned Malaysian culinary personality, Amy Beh. Known for her expertise in Peranakan cuisine, Chef Amy brings her signature Nyonya flavours to life in a specially curated buffet experience.
The Main Event: 9–10 May
For two nights only, Chef Amy Beh herself takes the reins at Makan Kitchen, bringing her signature Peranakan dishes to the buffet line. This is a rare opportunity to taste her creations firsthand – think rich, aromatic curries, tangy assam-laced seafood, and the intricate spice pastes that define Nyonya cooking. If your mother (or you) grew up flipping through her recipes, dining here feels a bit like meeting a legend.
Guests dining over the Mother’s Day weekend will enjoy a live cooking session with Chef Amy Beh, along with a complimentary polaroid photo as a keepsake.
The Extended Celebration: 2-30 May
Can’t make it on the 9th or 10th? The Nyonya buffet continues throughout May, giving you nearly a full month to gather the family and indulge. While Chef Amy Beh won’t be present daily, the menu keeps her Peranakan spirit alive with classics like Jiu Hu Char with Cuttlefish, Fish Maw Soup with Seafood and Aromatics, Inchi Kabin Fried Chicken, Assam Heh Tamarind Prawns, Peranakan Laksa, Sweetened Green Bean Broth and Royale Pengat Nyonya.
The dining experience is complemented by a live busker performance, creating a warm and inviting setting for families and friends to come together.
