In modern day Egypt, a 3,000-year-old city of mummies lies deep within the Earth, remotely hidden from the world. Meanwhile, on the surface of modern-day Earth, Lord Silvester Carnaby carries out an archaeological expedition in which, for the first time, he discovers something of great historical significance: an Egyptian tomb which contains a stunning wedding ring – that’s where the adventure begins!
Witness the fun adventures of three ancient Egyptian mummies who live in an underground secret city, hidden in ancient Egypt. The trio includes a princess, a former charioteer, and his younger brother, along with their pet baby crocodile. Through a series of unfortunate events, the mummies end up in present-day London and embark on a wacky and hilarious journey in search of an old ring belonging to the Royal Family, which was stolen by the ambitious archaeologist Lord Carnaby.

This film is packed with a romantic family adventure, with a musical touch echoing traditional beloved animated movies but with a current 3D aesthetic. The film takes place in two worlds:
- Mummy City: A secret underground city where mummies from ancient Egypt dwell.
- Present-day London.
The film is directed by Juan JesĂșs GarcĂa Galocha (“Galoâ), who makes his feature film debut following his work as art director on films such as âTad: The Lost Explorerâ and âTad: The Lost Explorer, and The Secret of King Midasâ.

Emmy Award-winning screenwriter Ricky Roxburgh (âTangled: The Seriesâ) supported the English language adaptation of the script. Gasull, winner of three Goya Awards for Best Animated Film for âTad: The Lost Explorerâ, âCapture the Flagâ and âTad, The Lost Explorer, and The Secret of King Midasâ, is also the film’s producer
“Many times, throughout our lives, we shut ourselves off and are unable to overcome our fears because we lack the strength to take the step required to solve our problems. In this film we have tried to show that love is everything and it is just what you need to take that step to help you move forward”.- Juan JesĂșs GarcĂa Galochaa

Expect a romantic family adventure, with a musical touch echoing traditional beloved animated movies but with a current 3D aesthetic. According to Galo, the movie breaks the âboy saves girlâ or vice-versa mould to give both characters equal strength on screen.
By developing sub-plots for each character that parallel the main plot, the love story isnât either characterâs main focus; instead, they each have their own dreams to achieve, issues to overcome, and actions to take.
“Ultimately, Mummies is a film full of humour and adventure, but above all of love,” he added.
