For new moms, the postpartum period is all about rest, recovery and getting the hang of life with a newborn. But behind the quiet moments are plenty of practical things that need care too, from keeping expressed breast milk safely stored to getting through endless loads of baby laundry. Toshiba Lifestyle Malaysia is stepping in to make that chapter a little easier, while making history along the way.
The brand has been officially recognised by Parenthood Records for the “Most Home Appliances Donation to Confinement Centres”, following a RM60,000 CSR initiative launched in conjunction with World Breastfeeding Month 2026. In partnership with Parenthood Media, Toshiba donated a range of essential home appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, dryers and dishwashers, to three leading confinement centres across Malaysia: The Nesting Place Confinement Centre, Kimporo Postnatal Rejuvenation Centre and LYC Mother & Child Centre.

More than just ticking off household chores, the initiative is about creating a more comfortable and supportive environment for mothers and their newborns. The donated refrigerators will help with the safe and hygienic storage of expressed breast milk, while the washing machines, dryers and dishwashers take some of the everyday workload off caregivers, giving new mums more space to focus on what matters most: recovering, bonding and caring for their little ones.
“Parenthood Records exists to celebrate extraordinary efforts that make a measurable difference in family life. Toshiba’s donation is not just the largest single-brand home appliance contribution to confinement centres we have recorded, it is a profoundly thoughtful one.” – Teresa Chin, Founder of Parenthood Records.
The initiative was designed to address a deeply personal gap in the breastfeeding journey: safe breastmilk storage, hygienic food preparation, and gentle laundry care for mother and baby. At the heart of the donation is the Toshiba NaturePURE refrigerator, equipped with intelligent temperature control and PureAIR Sterilisation technology that removes 99.99% of bacteria hourly, making it the ideal guardian for mothers’ “liquid gold.”

The official recognition presentation took place during the Toshiba x Parenthood Breastfeeding Awareness Event on August 18, 2026, at The Grounds, MAHSA Avenue, Kuala Lumpur. This is an initiative designed to inspire and empower mothers through meaningful conversations, expert insights and practical support. The event was officiated by YB Yeo Bee Yin, MP for Puchong and Chairperson of the Parliament Select Committee for Women, Children and Community Development.
“Receiving this record means alot to us. It motivates us to continuously develop the best products to our consumers who choose us, Toshiba, as their household products provider for their loved ones and family. From our visits to confinement centres, we saw how refrigerators serve as “silent guardians” for mothers’ breast milk. With 99.99% sterilisation and ample storage capacity, our Toshiba refrigerators help ensure every precious drop is safely stored and counts.” – Vanice Foo, Head of Brand Management of Toshiba Malaysia.
Malaysia’s exclusive breastfeeding rate remains below the Ministry of Health’s 58% target, and the World Health Organization continues to emphasise breastfeeding as foundational to infant health and maternal wellbeing.
By integrating world-class home appliances into the confinement centre ecosystem, Toshiba has created a sustainable, tangible support system that will serve mothers long after World Breastfeeding Month concludes.
